McQuillan Envirocare currently have an opening for a Process Analyst in their Chemical Treatment Facility in Antrim.

JOB TITLE:     Process Analyst

RESPONSIBLE TO:     Process Chemists

 

OVERALL OBJECTIVES:               

To perform analysis as required in support of the Process Chemists during the day to

day operation of the Chemical Treatment Facility (CTF). To complete waste chemical

treatment of various aqueous based wastes within the CTF. To ensure that

schedules are met and that the quality of work meets specified standards as dictated

by the Process Chemists and Waste Process Directions

 

 

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:    The jobholder will –

 

  • Ensure that test materials are sampled and analysed in accordance with agreed methods, and are approved or rejected according to the results of the analysis in conjunction with their supervisor.
  • Retain an up to date knowledge of analytical & processing techniques and equipment.
  • Follow Waste Processing Directions as generated by the Process Chemists.
  • Adherence to in-process control sampling procedures.
  • Ensure that tasks relating to quality standards and procedures are carried out in the specified manner.
  • Identify incidents of out of specification results and inform their supervisor.
  • Ensure adequate supplies of materials and consumables are available to support projects.
  • Keep their supervisor informed on a regular basis of progress and any circumstances that alter agreed timescales.
  • Ensure that equipment remains in calibration and functions as required. Where this is not the case inform the appropriate persons for them to action.
  • 10.  Assist in the generation of specifications and SOPs relevant to the Chemical Treatment Facility.
  • 11. Other duties as may be deemed appropriate by their supervisor and that fall within the general remit of the post.

 

 

IDEAL CANDIDATES WOULD POSSESS:

 

1. Basic scientific knowledge and experience

2. Laboratory experience would be preferable

 

Shift patterns will vary Monday to Friday. Salary will depend on experience.

McQuillan Envirocare specialise in the handling, transportation, safe and environmentally friendly disposal of hazardous waste for industries, hospitals and public bodies throughout Ireland.  In conjunction with our dry waste division; McQuillan Skip Hire, Envirocare can provide a total waste solution to all your waste concerns in an efficient and effective manner.  Excellence in quality and service has been established through 30 years of business, putting McQuillan Envirocare at the forefront of waste management both locally and nationally.

 

Working at one of our satellite sites the key responsibilities will include

  • Ensuring site housekeeping
  • Interacting with client and adhering to all their site rules
  • Loading of all vehicles for onward disposal. Includes skip receptacles and trailers
  • Sorting waste materials for bailing / compacting
  • Operation of forklift truck
  • Preparation for service operations and collections
  • Booking collections with operations department
  • As duties and responsibilities change, the job description will be reviewed and amended in consultation with the post holder
  • The post holder will carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as requested by the line manager/s
  • The post holder will actively follow McQuillan Company policies including Equal Opportunities policies
  • The post holder will maintain an awareness and observation of Fire and Health & Safety Regulations


Knowledge indicators and experience

 

Candidates should demonstrate the following qualities:

 

  • Ability to work in a team and take and follow instruction
  • Ability to complete manual labour task with mechanical aids as appropriate.
  • Basic chemical knowledge in terms of qualification or experience.
  • Level 2 COTC in waste management desirable
  • Waste experience or knowledge desirable.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001 desirable
  • Forklift licence desirable
  • A full clean driving licence

The role in Craigavon will be an evening shift with approx. hours being 2pm to 10pm
