John McQuillan Contract Scotland have built strong relationships with Tier One Contractors who repeatedly use our services and we work with local suppliers to ensure a quality product and service is delivered within the specified timescale.
We have completed a number of Government funded projects as the Main Contractor directly for Local Authorities. Our range of clients also include commercial property owners who require our services to maintain their assets e.g. carparks by means of resurfacing. In 2023, in partnership with AMEY, we delivered the Surface Dressing Programme on the South West Trunk Roads for Transport Scotland.

Bituminous Surfacing Package on New Build Projects
David Lloyd Health club and Spa (located in Edinburgh) – In partnership with Pellikaan construction, we undertook the surface dressing package for the large carpark and footpaths. This project had several sports surfaces where laser receiver level paving was required to achieve minimal deviation on sports surfaces for tennis, paddle tennis courts and multi use areas.
Helensburgh Sport centre – In Partnership with Heron Bros. we undertook the surfacing of the large carpark and footpaths. There was also extensive works completed to upgrade the adjoining listed Helensburgh pier. This section of the project was completed using a Stone Mastic Asphalt (SMA). We are an improved installer of this product.
Car Park Resurfacing
Our team can provide resurfacing solutions and maintenance of existing assets including car park resurfacing, retail units, office buildings and any commercial properties. We work closely with the client to deliver solutions to ensure works are completed with minimal disruption to business operations.
Road Maintenance
We have extensive experience in road construction and road maintenance for both the public and private sectors. In addition to utilising our modern fleet of specialist plant and equipment, we work closely with a small number of partners who support our core services, for example through the provision of road milling, road markings and street lighting.
Surface Dressing
We possess an extensive range of modern surface dressing plant and equipment. We are members of the Road Surface Treatment Association and our products and services have achieved CE Marking, BS:EN 12271 and National Highways Sector Scheme 13 certifications.
Domestic Surfacing
Our team can provide quotations and advice for surfacing at private dwellings offering a range of surface finishes including various colours of chippings to offer different aesthetics.
Mastic Asphalt Reinstatements
Using our polymer modified mastic asphalt we provide a flexible and convenient repair solution to ironwork and chamber covers on road and pavement surfaces, which are the most common locations of failure encountered in road surface maintenance. Advantages include significant improvements to surface lifespan, flexibility and regularity. Pre-coated chippings are applied to provide a skid resistance compliant finished surface which can be trafficked shortly after installation.
